(Kuala Lumpur, 16th Dec) – In celebration of its 26th anniversary, Hair Atelier Group has partnered with the Kuala Lumpur ManWa Junior Chamber International (JCI) and the Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Joy of Sharing Charity Organization to launch a year-long initiative titled “Confidence & Compassion Charity Haircut Campaign.”
With a shared vision, the campaign aims to redesign the image of single mothers, helping them regain confidence and re-enter the workforce with renewed strength and self-worth.
The fourth round of this initiative took place on December 16. During the event, Hair Atelier founder Mr. Yap Kah Lun expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the collaborating partners. He hopes this campaign will raise greater awareness in society for the underprivileged, especially single-parent families, and inspire young hairstylists to understand the deeper meaning of charity haircuts—using their skills to bring dignity and hope to those in need.
Mr. Yap also announced a new milestone: Hair Atelier has partnered with Bukit Minden Rotary Club to launch the “Trim to Success” 30-month tuition-free Hairdressing Design Course. This scholarship program is designed to equip passionate youth and single mothers with professional skills, empowering them to build a sustainable future in the hairstyling industry.
The “Trim to Success” program is a holistic training course that combines both theory and hands-on practice, enabling students to master essential hairstyling skills more efficiently and prepare themselves for the workforce. Beyond hairstyling techniques, the course also includes personal development, marketing strategies, business operations, communication skills, and guidance on starting their own salon.
Ms. Liu Si Ling, assistant of the Joy of Sharing Charity Organization, joined 20 single mothers and their children at the event — all of whom were overjoyed with their new looks. They expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Hair Atelier team of passionate stylists: Wong Jia Min, Tong Wei Keong, Liu Guo Wei, Wen Jun Xiang, Huang Mei Hui, Wu Xiao Ping, Xie Si Qin, Barney & Alice — for their warmth, skill, and dedication.
The event also saw the special participation of renowned Malaysian host Xandria Ooi, who personally encouraged and uplifted the mothers and children with her presence and kind words.
Hair Atelier Group hopes to extend the program’s reach in the future, aiming to include orphans and persons with disabilities, giving them access to support, skills, and the chance to build a better life with confidence and dignity.
