Scholarship

Seri Kembangan, 8th — The Selangor & Kuala Lumpur Multiracial Mutual Aid Charity Organization awarded scholarships and education aid to children from single-parent families.

In conjunction with the upcoming Chinese New Year, the organization distributed the 2015 Academic Excellence Scholarships and Education Aid to children from single-parent families. A total of 86 students benefited, with the total amount of RM14,770 disbursed.

In her speech, Chairperson Lim Huizan stated,

“Guided by our mission ‘Mutual Help is Love’, we provide long-term assistance to poor single-parent families regardless of race or religion. We place great emphasis on children’s education because it has the power to transform the future of an entire family.”

She added that the group’s mission is to “Promote Education for Children of Single-Parent Families”, and every year, they organize fundraising events to support the education fund — including the first charity golf tournament in 2014, which raised RM80,000. This fund is used for both scholarships and education aid for outstanding students.

Secretary Mr. Hu Weifa, during the award ceremony, encouraged students to continue striving. He cited the example of Chua Kang Rong, who achieved 7As in the 2015 UPSR exam and received RM420. He expressed hope that more students would receive even greater awards in the future.

Honorary Advisor Dato’ Huang Wenming also encouraged the recipients to grow into well-rounded individuals with strong academics, good character, and healthy bodies.

On the same day, witnessed by Honorary Advisor Dato’ Huang Wenming, Chairperson Lim Huizan, Secretary Hu Weifa, Deputy Secretary Zou Wenjun, and Treasurer Liu Shimei, the organization presented:

10 scholarships to students who excelled in national exams, and 86 education aid packages to students in primary school, secondary school, and college/university.
